You know what I have noticed about New York City? There are a lot of parades! Most of the time, I just hear a lot of sirens, some people hollering, and the occasional chanting, clapping, and screaming, but really I have no idea what is going on. I do not really understand why everyone needs to have a parade. If I have a message that I want to get out, I tend to just howl out the window to make my voice heard, but I guess that human beings might be a bit different.
"Are you ready for some football?" That is what the guy on television asks me all of the time, and the answer is a resounding yes. As I sit here and chew my tennis ball, I am happy to report that one of my favorite teams, the Virginia Tech Hokies, are now in the top 10 of the BCS standings (right behind Clemson). The Hokies can maintain their position or likely move up with a victory over #22 Georgia Tech this week, but they will have to be careful - that is the same team that surprised Clemson and destroyed their national title aspirations.
Speaking of the BCS, Alabama, despite losing to LSU, only fell one spot in the rankings. Now granted, the game was close and a great battle, but we have undefeated teams out there - how does Boise win and not move up at all? Sadly, it seems like Boise State will once again be overlooked in terms of the chance to play in the national championship, no matter how many wins they have. Their best best is for the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!) to keep winning, and for TCU to put together a pretty good streak before they play them, but things are looking grim.
Now I just have to be a patient puppy, and wait for some Monday Night Football to get here. The Philadelphia Eagles are playing tonight, and I'm barking for them all the way!
