Hump Day

How in the world did Wednesday's become known as "hump day" and better yet, why has the name stuck?  When originally I was pondering this question earlier today, I thought for sure that it had something to do with the sexual tendencies of canines, but alas I found out that it is only American-English slang referring to Wednesday falling in the middle of the typical M-F work week.  If you look at the week as a hill, one you are past Wednesday it is all down hill from there, according to a random person I asked about this today.

This does not make much sense to me.  Maybe they should call it hill day, since it is at the top of the so-called week.  I mean, it isn't really a hump in the sense that it is referred to.  When have you ever heard anyone reach the top of a hill or mountain and say - we made it to the hump!  It just makes very little sense to this puppy, and I think that calling it hump day denotes a lot of connotations that might be confusing for all of the dogs of the world.

I mean, if I go to the park on a Wednesday and some other dog is confused about what day it is, I could be in for a lot of embarrassing moments and even some awkward running by yours truly.  Let's clear this up for dogs everywhere and stop calling this day 'Hump Day'.  Hill Day makes much more sense, and would be easier to understand.  Heck, even mountain day would be better.
