I saw a great quote today: "Frosty Paws can teach an old dog new licks." Now, I'll be the first to admit that I am not a big fan of the old saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" (in fact, I posted about this yesterday), but I have to say that from an advertising perspective that is a very clever line.
Frosty Paws are the frozen ice cream treat that is made specifically for dogs, and they are absolutely delicious. Purina makes them, and they can be found in almost every grocery store across the United States now.
It is nice to see people catering to dogs as we have very unique tastes. Most people assume that because we occasionally eat our own vomit that we will eat anything and don't care about taste, but that is absolutely not true (just in case you were wondering, we don't like to eat our own vomit either, but they are reasons we do it). Dogs actually care about tastes a lot, which should make sense if you just take a moment and think about it.
Most of the "taste" that people get from food is actually from the ol' sniffer, not from the tongue. The tongue can really only detect bitter, salt, sour, and sweet - the rest of what people commonly refer to as taste comes from the olfactory organ, your nose! Now, if you expound out from this a bit, you will realize that with a dog's superior sniffer that our sense of taste is also greatly enhanced. We are secret gourmets!
So the next time you see a puppy at the table begging for some bacon or other delicious food, do not tell them to get away or pour them a bowl of dog food. Share your tasty treat with someone who will truly appreciate it and we will love you forever!
