Hokies, Cowboys, and Tiger

WOO HOO!  The Virginia Tech Hokies won again this week, making me one happy tail-wagging puppy! It looks like my favorite team, despite that early loss to Clemson, is going to have a great chance to win the ACC again this year.  If they win their game versus the University of Virginia (or the University of Virginia loses this weekend), then the Hokies will win their division of the ACC and get to play in the ACC Championship Game.  Now I think this is a very interesting game, because VT is going to be playing the hated Clemson Tiger (yuck cats!), and they will have the chance to avenge their prior loss.

Even more interesting is that the Oklahoma State Cowboys, one of the last three undefeated teams in college football, lost earlier on Friday to Iowa State.  The number two OSU team losing has cleared the path for a one-loss team to now play in the BCS Championship.  Everyone is talking about the SEC teams or Oregon, but this puppy believes that it is possible for a one-loss ACC team to leapfrog into the game.  After all, if things continue as they are moving now, it looks like Clemson will be number five or six and Virginia Tech will be ranked six or seven in the BCS rankings, which will allow the winner of that game a great boost in the computer rankings.  I've got my paws crossed that Virginia Tech can pull it off, and perhaps get that elusive national championship that Frank Beamer and the Hokies desperately long for.

Speaking of Clemson made me think of another tiger.  Tiger Woods, after finishing third and actually leading at some point in his last tournament, has been playing in the President's Cup this week.  So far, he has been playing poorly, losing three of four matches.  The only news about his performance that has actually made some headlines is the fact that he shook hands with his former caddy.  Big deal.  I learned to shake hands as a very young puppy, and I assure you that it just isn't that hard.

Excited for more college football this weekend!
