ARF! I got to watch a very exciting football game tonight as the Virginia Tech Hokies took on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in what was essentially a play-off game for both teams. The winner was in a strong position to win the ACC Coastal Division - the loser pretty much done. It was a very exciting game, and the true turning point in the game occurred in the third quarter when one of the Georgia Tech players took a swing at the Hokies quarterback, giving the Hokies a much needed first down.
After that, it was game over, and Virginia Tech won!!! It looks like they are headed for a rematch with the team that handed them their only defeat this season, as apparently they will be meeting Clemson in Charlotte for a rematch to determine who is headed to the automatic berth in the BCS Bowl. Exciting times to be sure!
You know what else was nice about tonight? ESPN was finally talking about something besides Joe Paterno. Now this puppy doesn't follow Penn State, but I am not a big fan of any cats or lions to start with, so that is not surprising. What is surprising is the crazy students up there acting like the worst thing that has ever happened to them is occurring right now with the firing of Paterno. Wake up kids! Football is a game, and although it is easy to get excited and bark and pant for you team, there are bigger things in life and this will pass.
